She oversees the day to day operations of the office as well as implementing new and exciting projects. Emily coordinates communication with the billing department to ensure accuracy and timely billing, as well as the overall financial health of the business. She manages the scheduling to ensure patients receive the appropriate time with the providers. Originally from Wolfsville, MD, she has called Washington County home for over 10 years. She graduated from Middletown High School and still maintains close ties to the area. Nursing has always been her passion. After earning her RN from Frederick Community College in 2009, she gained diverse experience in the ER, interventional radiology, PACU, med-surgical, and long-term care. She completed her BSN at the University of Notre Dame of MD in 2012, followed by her Master’s in Family Practice at Shenandoah University in 2016. In 2020, she earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Shenandoah and currently serves as an adjunct professor, precepting FNP students from the university. Her experience spans family practice, internal medicine, long-term care, hospice, and assisted living. Outside of work, she and her husband, Howard, enjoy walking and biking along the canal or hiking the Appalachian Trail, a passion sparked during the pandemic. Their daughter, Emily, and her husband, Brice, live in Hedgesville with their 2 dogs, 3 cats, 20+ chickens, and a donkey. They are often found helping around the office as the practice grows. Originally from Severna Park, Maryland, she has called Boonsboro home since 2015. Her passion for healthcare deepened during the COVID-19 pandemic, inspiring her to pursue a more patient-centered approach to care—focused on accessibility, connection, and long-term relationships. She began her career in women’s health, working as a scrub tech and spending over 13 years as a labor and delivery nurse. Before joining Leatherman Healthcare, she practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in a women’s health clinic. These experiences continue to shape her compassionate, listening-first approach to primary care. She now provides family-focused care to the Hagerstown area and surrounding communities.
